About The Position
Job Overview:
Highcon is looking for an Engineering team leader to lead the Engineering team for the successful introduction of new products from concept to production and manage all engineering aspects in operations.
What you will do:
In your role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, R&D, customer support, manufacturing, planning, procurement, and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:
NPI Engineering
- Lead operations requirements for new produt
- Early involvement in the product development phase to ensure DFx requirements are met
- Follow best practices for Production line modification/establishment (Production flow, Test VSM, PFMEA)
- Lead production prototypes and zero series (including trainings, failure investigation, and leading multiple interfaces) – Hands-on.
Technical Expertise
- Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and supply chain risks throughout the NPI process
- Resolve systemic quality issues within production floor and in the supply chain
- Conduct design reviews, process qualifications, and validations to ensure product quality and manufacturability
- Manage Highcon products configuration control (production files, FCO, ECO)
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
- Lead DFMs processes
Project Management
- Manage project timelines, resources, budgets, and deliverables to meet targets and commitments.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for all engineering team activities
Supplier Management
- Involvement in supplier selection, engineering management of Turnkey suppliers (SOW, process validation)
- Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure seamless operations and equipment reliability
- Collaborate with suppliers’ engineering assuring continuous improvements in product quality and up-to-date configuration control
Team Management
- Managing engineering and quality team within Operations.
- Build a strong engineering & quality department by defining the scope, recruiting staff, and implementing business processes and interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and career development opportunities to the engineering team members.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 3 years experience as an NPI engineering Leader
- 5 years experience as NPI engineer
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering – mandatory
- Experience with NPI methodology process
- Experience with HW and Mechanical engineering and design process
- Experience with Operations work environment
- Experience working with SolidWorks, PDM, Priority (ERP) – Mandatory
- Experience with regulatory processes – an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with budget management, cross organization team management, and task control
- Experience in building a new team, defining vision, roles, and responsibilities
- Fluent English (oral and written) – Mandatory
