The first in the UK to join the Vulcan Option Program

Düsseldorf, Germany, 6 June, 2024 — Highcon, a leading provider of digital die cutting and creasing systems, announced today at drupa 2024 that Durham Box, part of the Logson Group, a UK based group of packaging companies has signed an agreement to purchase the first Highcon Beam 2C digital die cutting system in the UK market. With this system, Durham Box aims to expand its market reach, particularly in the e-commerce sector.

This innovative system will be installed at Durham Box’s 120,000 feet plant in Bishop Auckland in North-East England, alongside the EFI Nozomi single-pass corrugated printer. Additionally, Durham Box has also signed an option agreement to upgrade the Highcon Beam 2C to the Highcon Beam 2C Nonstop as well as, to join the Highcon Vulcan Option Program. The revolutionary Vulcan (R&D code name) is still under development and boasts an impressive 1.4 x 1.7-meter (55” x 66”) sheet size, which will bring about numerous benefits for mainstream corrugated production.
